We are currently looking for a Controller/Job Cost Accountant (JCA), Emergency Services Crew Leader and a Reconstruction Manager. See below for additional information.

Position: Controller/Job Cost Accountant (JCA)

Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Scope: Full-time employment

What does a Controller/JCA with Paul Davis do?

  • Manage all phases of job costing within our Restoration Management System (RMS) and QuickBooks.
  • Provide semi-monthly reporting to leadership regarding gross margin overall and by department.
  • Maintain all accounting, computer and financial records.
  • Provide updated income statements and other financial reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with collections.
  • Manage expense reporting and 3-5 year financial “road map” planning.

Depending upon your background, experience and ambition the scope of this role can be focused solely upon bookkeeping and job cost accounting…or it be significantly broader.  Specifically and for those qualified candidates, this role could become a true full Controller role managing all financial planning and reporting aspects of the business right alongside the owner.  Compensation would, of course, vary under each of these scenarios.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • A salary between $65,000-$115,000 per year depending upon background, experience and a documented track record of success.

Qualifications (Requirements):

  • Very strong accounting and bookkeeping skills; CPA credentials preferred but not required.
  • Desire to join a world-class team and contribute with a positive attitude.
  • Quickbooks “power-user” along with strong PC skills.
  • Dedication to customer service.
  • Organized but flexible. Must be able to prioritize and manage time.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Have the ability to work overtime as needed (rare).
  • Restoration industry experience a plus…but not a requirement.

Role on the Team (Job Responsibilities):

  • Strong listening and communication skills, ask questions and monitor various aspects of the business/jobs to detect problems.
  • Manage all phases of job costing and related reporting.
  • Maintain all accounting, computer and financial records.
  • Enter timesheets and process payroll (eventually).
  • Establish a rapport with insurance carriers, customers, vendors, subcontractors, adjusters, agents and fellow employees
  • Assist other team members when needed and foster a positive working relationship with other departments.

    • Maintain inventory of clean, properly stocked and organized trucks along with all company equipment.

Reconstruction Project Managers work with owners and sub-contractors after events such as a fire or flood to clean up and repair damage to residential and commercial property. As a Reconstruction Project Manager, you will supervise the renovation as well as manage costs with the insurance provider. This means you will spend a good deal of time in the field.

Construction project management experience is preferred.

Our current Reconstruction Managers yearly pay range from $75,000 to $115,000  depending on their experience, demonstrated track record of success and, of course, production.  There is also the opportunity for variable compensation on top of salary.  No limit to earning potential.
